Twiggy

I finished the Twiggy Bobble Hat this afternoon. It looks great and is so very warm!

ETA: Hey! I forgot to post the yarn/needle/other info. Oops!

Yarn: Katia Danubio Style, color 2901, 76% wool 24% nylon
Needles: Clover Bamboo US 6 (Possibly my favorite needles, I almost always have something on them.)

I did change the pattern a little as well... I only did bobbles for the first 3 times they were required. I just didn't really like what they looked like on the hat and didn't want to over do it, but I didn't want to leave them completely off.

The yarn is from my stash. I bought it about 3 years ago. I made a pillow out of it for my mom last year and it's still not gone! How is that possible!? I think there are 2 balls left in my huge Rubbermaid container.

*SQUEE*

Lookie what I found...

... in the bottom of a laundry basket.

Time to finished the Twiggy Bobble Hat!

This whole adventure made me realise I need another set of size 6 dpns. I have a lot of hats to knit and almost all seem to require that size.

*pulls hair out*

It's.
Still.
Missing.

How!? I live in a tiny place? Where could it be!?

Ode to a lost ball of yarn.

Why is it that whenever I don't need the second ball of yarn for a project it's always floating around being annoying and getting in my way... and as soon as I need it -- IT HAS VANISHED!

WTF?

Where are you, oh second ball of Katia I saw on the couch last Sunday? Where could you have gone?

I checked in the cotton basket, I checked the John Lewis bag, I checked all my small project bags, I checked under my bed, under my desk, under the couch! I even checked at Z's. And you are no where to be found.

Did you run away to somewhere less damp and rainy (and if so why didn't you take me along)?

Dear second ball of yarn, please return so I can finish my Twiggy Bobble hat finally. I'm so close to being done! Just the decrease rows! But, alas, I cannot decrease without yarn...

I hope to find you waiting expectantly on my desk tomorrow when I return home from work. I would have thought that you would enjoy finally being something rather than just a ball in the bottom of a basket, maybe I was wrong, but I really want that hat and you have no choice in this matter.

December is flying by...

Ballband number 4 is done. I finished it Saturday (I think...) and cast on for another one last night.

bband4

Same colors as 3, just reversed.

I re-cast on for the Twiggy Bobble Hat today -- at work. I always forget how odd people find it when I randomly break out the knitting. I really don't think it's that odd... but that's me. I had people stopping by my desk all through my break (a measly 15 minutes people! I don't want to spend the entire time telling you that I'm knitting a hat and yes it takes 5 needles and no, this isn't the thing with the hook and no, I'm not crocheting. Sorry.... mini-rant) and then later in the day because I left it sitting on my desk next to my computer.

Um... I just totally blanked and forgot what else I was going to blog about. Yeah. I need a nap.

WIP rolecall.

Since revamping the blog and my quick production of ballbands, I've noticed a sad trend here in the house of Libertine-ville. A growing stash of WIPs. Yes.

WIPs!

Everywhere...

Hmm... I have socks that I haven't touched since mid-September. A blanket that I generally tend to forget about until I have the urge to knit something red and once I dive into the stash to find red yarn, realise that I harvested all of it for said blanket. (You'd be surprised by the odd color urges that come over me. I've been staring at my basket of cotton for ballbands and willing some purple and blue to show up and maybe some light green... and maybe yellow. But that's a whole different story. Those little things are like crack.)

Back on topic -- there's the scarf that was supposed to be quick and dirty just sort of looks like a Muppet on crack. Another scarf, my second Irish Hiking scarf... that I haven't touched since I moved. The Log Cabin blanket for Mom has been moved back to Mother's Day. A flight means limited space and a huge heavy blanket just won't make it into my bag. A rug for my cold, cold floors. And finally the Twiggy Bobble hat. I knit several inches of this on Thanksgiving and then realised I had made the bobbles wrong. Oops.

So that's it for now. Yikes. I'm sure there are some other ones hiding away in a box somewhere but we'll ignore those.

Yummy.

I'm excited. I've been trolling the internet for a good hat pattern and finally found one. Thanks to Sandra who was also trolling for a perfect hat. Her's turned out so well that I'm having a difficult time not digging through my stash to find the yarn to make this rightnow!

It's 11:45 though... and knitting a hat is not what I should be doing right now.

Even if it is adorable.
