Better.

I got a nice long nap yesterday evening. I woke up to the scent of Nepali food. I finished some homework after that while we caught up on TV from earlier in the week. I got a good night's sleep without any weird dreams about Bret Michaels driving my car and breaking the clutch.

I have been mighty sneezy today, but so far it's been pretty nice. I took out a crap load of recycling and then sat down, computer on lap, to watch the Ohio State game. (We DVR'ed it, so we're still watching now.) I've been able to geek around all day and just relax. I'm going to grab some knitting now and knit for the rest of the game. Then I'll start back on the reading. I have about 100 pages to finish up before tomorrow. That's not too bad.

Catching Up.

We got back from Ohio last night. Whew! The visit was fun, I enjoyed myself -- the drive back was sucktastic. We had waaaaay too much stuff in the car and I didn't have a whole lot of room to stretch out my leg.

I saw my doctor in Columbus while we were there. He's a great doctor. He confirmed that I do need surgery, but sent me for an MRI to check that there are no other issues going on. I finally got the results Friday (a week after the MRI) and was told that there are no tears but my meniscus is deteriorating badly. Now I just have to wait... my doctor is in New Orleans with the Buckeyes (he's a team doctor) and won't be back for a bit. Then I have to arrange everything so I can fly there, have surgery, recover a bit, then fly back home.

Let's see --- CHRISTMAS and my BIRTHDAY were good. I got lots of goodies. Piles and piles of great books, including a nice collection of Edward Gorey from Vince and a stack of new and not-yet released books from Julie (Vince's sister) and my very own copy of Last-Minute Knitted Gifts. The Planet Earth DVD set. A new camera. (Thank goodness! My old one was dying a quick death.) Lots of makeup and bath goodies. A purse, some cute t-shirts, a few really nice sweaters - including a cashmere one from Vince that I want to wear everyday. A copy of Brain Age 2 for the DS. I got a gift certificate from Shuttles, Spindles & Skeins and piles and piles of yarn from Oma. So much yarn. I am trying to figure out where to put it all!

I got lots of great stuff and I hope everyone I gave gifts to enjoyed theirs as much as I enjoyed mine!

I'm off to try to figure out how to use my new camera and try to take photos of things I knit over the break. I should have more tomorrow.

Oh and the most important thing of all GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

*Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*

That's my only expression right now!! My knitterly friend Lauren is coming to visit!!!

I find it very amusing that she's coming on quite possibly the most insane weekend possible in Columbus, Ohio --- The Ohio State/Michigan game. Yikes. Even I'm a little scared to be on campus at this time of year! I'm moving my car into a more secure location in a few minutes. (I'm parked in the tiny lot near the backdoor of my building which is right on the alley. Not too safe. I'm moving into the larger much more secure lot in between the two buildings. Hopefully there won't be too many fires tomorrow either. You might think I'm exaggerating...) It should still be fun, the number one and number two ranked college football teams in town at once. Just make sure you don't wear any blue in central Ohio in the next few days. If in doubt, wear red. Just wear red. I beg of you.
