Charleston Hat

As you can tell, being laid off has lead to a lot more time for me to enjoy other things -- like my etsy store! I've been digging through the FO closet and digging out goodies galore!

I knit this ages ago from some really great nubby cotton blend yarn. I really love the look of it, it's very 20s and fun.

I listed it today for $17. Thanks for looking! :)

What I'm Knitting Now

I still haven't managed to upload all the photos from the stuff I knit while I was in Ohio. I'm terrible...

But I've been knitting some new stuff so here it is:
DSCN0742

A Herringbone scarf for Vince. It's nice warm Cascade 220. It's a neat color, sort of mossy golden-green. He picked it out.

DSCN0739

My first lace!! A scarf for my Mom for Mother's Day. (She doesn't read this all that much, so I don't think I'm ruining it, if I did -- OOPS!) It's yummy Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK. It's coming out so well.

Back to the stuff finished in Ohio:
Red Stripe

A great little stripey hat. I listed it on etsy yesterday. It's soft and warm and perfect for spring!

Red Fetching

A pair of red Fetching. I really do love this pattern! It's fun, fast and cute. These ones are Rowan RYC Cashsoft DK. The smoother yarn really made a difference in making the cables pop.

I think there is just one more hat thing to be posted from Ohio. I actually want to take some new photos of it because they all turned out lousy. I knit a set of buttery yellow dishcloths for Vince's Mom while I was there, but I didn't take photos of any of them. I also knit a handtowel for our bathroom, I need a picture of that too...

I'm planning a hat for my brother's upcoming birthday. I picked out a pattern yesterday and now just need to decide on yarn. I started knitting some pieces for a new blanket too. I have no idea way, I just felt like knitting a big diagonal strip yesterday, so I did. It's nice mindless knitting since everything else on the needles right now requires lots of attention. Maybe I can finish it up in time for Christmas and gift it to someone.

I think that's it! I'm job hunting. I hope I can find something good soon. I need to make some money so I can pay bills and buy yarns.

Blues clues

I couldn't resist the lure of new kitchen cotton... I cast on for a ballband yesterday evening and finished it up this afternoon.

I made it with 9 stripes so it won't be ginormous. I think the 13 stripes just make it way too large for me.

I added the pink stripe just for the heck of it and to add some more color. I have little odd bits left of many different colors. I'm going to end up with all sorts of oddly striped ones by the end of summer.

I've set a goal to finish my Hourglass: June 10th. I am almost done with the first sleeve. I'd probably be much further along if I weren't using the most slippery and annoying DPNs on the face of the planet. I get irritated after about 45 minutes of knitting and just end up putting it down and knitting something else (Noro hat, ballbands, etc...) until I'm less pissed off.

I've taken my little break and I'm all set to finish the first sleeve tonight while watching some DVDs. Wish me luck!

Infomatics:

4x2 ribbing on US 8
Pink: Caron One Pound in Country Rose
Green: "vintage" Le Yarn by Pingouin, color 035 (80% Orlon/20% wool) Whoa, didn't know there was wool in that. Helps to read the ballbands...

Attn Lauren:
There's a penguin on the label. I kept it for you.

Siiiiilky.

I finished my Noro Silk Garden Hat this afternoon after restarting it for about the 543rd time.

It's pretty. It's so very pretty. I was mesmerized watching the stripes appear as I knit it. The color changes, oh the changes(!!!) so very pretty.

I changed the pattern slightly. I added an extra half inch of ribbing at the bottom and a few extra repeats during the decreases.

I'll add photos and all that crap later. I'm tired.

The color is 217. I wish tha they had real names... I think I'd call this one Autumn Evening or something... It makes me think of fall.

Hey Ho F-O!

OMFG. I finished something. Miracle of all miracles.

A simple garter stitch rug in random stripes. It's some old Red Heart bulky from the stash. Hopefully, it will help keep my floors a little warmer.

I finally got all the photos up of my Christmas and Birthday loot (with notes stating what they are and who gave them.)

P.S. Still no sightings of the MIA Katia. I'm making up theories about Jazz Guy* sneaking over and stealing it now.

*The douche bag across the hall... Not sure if I've mentioned him before.
