What I'm Knitting Now

I still haven't managed to upload all the photos from the stuff I knit while I was in Ohio. I'm terrible...

But I've been knitting some new stuff so here it is:
DSCN0742

A Herringbone scarf for Vince. It's nice warm Cascade 220. It's a neat color, sort of mossy golden-green. He picked it out.

DSCN0739

My first lace!! A scarf for my Mom for Mother's Day. (She doesn't read this all that much, so I don't think I'm ruining it, if I did -- OOPS!) It's yummy Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK. It's coming out so well.

Back to the stuff finished in Ohio:
Red Stripe

A great little stripey hat. I listed it on etsy yesterday. It's soft and warm and perfect for spring!

Red Fetching

A pair of red Fetching. I really do love this pattern! It's fun, fast and cute. These ones are Rowan RYC Cashsoft DK. The smoother yarn really made a difference in making the cables pop.

I think there is just one more hat thing to be posted from Ohio. I actually want to take some new photos of it because they all turned out lousy. I knit a set of buttery yellow dishcloths for Vince's Mom while I was there, but I didn't take photos of any of them. I also knit a handtowel for our bathroom, I need a picture of that too...

I'm planning a hat for my brother's upcoming birthday. I picked out a pattern yesterday and now just need to decide on yarn. I started knitting some pieces for a new blanket too. I have no idea way, I just felt like knitting a big diagonal strip yesterday, so I did. It's nice mindless knitting since everything else on the needles right now requires lots of attention. Maybe I can finish it up in time for Christmas and gift it to someone.

I think that's it! I'm job hunting. I hope I can find something good soon. I need to make some money so I can pay bills and buy yarns.

Home is where your hat is.

My little pink and green hat is all done!

There's a penguin on the label. I kept it for you.

Hat tricks.

I have some photos of the finished and blocked IHS. It looks lovely, I'm just too tired to edit/upload photos. I wore the scarf out on Saturday morning to go bridesmaid dress shopping. By the afternoon, it was too hot to wear and it was happily living in my J.Crew bag.

I finished the grey hat for Nick on Thursday evening... And it was too large... It got frogged Friday. I'm going to re-knit it soon.

I finished the purple and pink Silk Garden hat, but I'm afraid it might be a little too small. I'm going to pull out the CO end and add some more length. I love the way the colorway knit up though.

I also started a very cute 4x2 pink and green striped hat. It's just some generic yarn that was in the stash, but the colors looked great together and I wanted to knit something especially for Project Spectrum. (I've been falling behind... I still haven't finished my grey scarf that I cast on at the beginning of this round.)

I have another hat in the works for as soon as Vince decides what kind of pattern he wants. He played in yarn for quite a while on Sunday night trying to pick out what he wanted.

I think that's all the knitting news... I honestly can't remember. I need some sleep.

Think pink!

The leg warmers are done and adorable. I ended up running out of yarn around 13" into the second one... so that meant ripping back the cast off edge of the first and just knitting until they were even. They are about 18 1/2" long. That's quite a difference from the 26" noted in the book. Not sure what happened there, but it worked out and I like them a lot. Of course, now that I've completed them, it's 70 degrees outside... although during March in Ohio anything is possible, so it might be -14 tomorrow.

I also got the yarn from Knit Picks today for my Hourglass sweater. It got here so quickly!!! I'm really pleased. The color is gorgeous!

It's Wool of the Andes in blueberry. The price can't be beat and it's very nice. I also got a ball each of forest heather and lake ice heather. I'm going to make a Hogwarts Slytherin scarf from them.

Message in a box

Another ballband.

greenbb

This one went to my friend Aimee in Nebraska along with some wonderful tea and some silly toys. I wanted to wait until she actually got it before I posted it and then forgot to post it until today.

I made it with only 10 repeats. I find I really like that size a lot better. The 13 repeats make them just a little too large.
