Found: Knitting Mojo

All it took was one evening of getting out of the house to knit. I spent all evening at Purl on Wednesday and found some yummy yarn to bring home.

It's so soft and pretty. I love it. I know why people go nuts over this yarn now. I just want to knit millions of things out of it.

I cast on for the Scrunchable scarf last night. It has quickly become my go to scarf pattern. It's reversible and very easy to memorize.

I finished up a hand towel for our bathroom last week or the week before.

It's actually the same stitch pattern at the scarf above. I told you I liked it.

Minimal

I've been slacking off on my other projects while stocking up on etsy.

After spending about a week knitting lots and lots of the same thing, I decided I should try to at least finish up the back of my Minimalist Cardigan. It's been balled up in the bottom of the knitting basket in the meantime.

There are a few other things in there I need to finish up, mainly the Gold Feather & Fan scarf.

My brain isn't really working all that well, so I'm going to knit a few more miles of moss stitch and watch Wire in the Blood.

Stitch 'n Twitch

Miles and miles of moss stitch is hard to do. I'm just to the sleeve decreases on my Minimalist Cardigan. It's not too bad of a knit, but I'm not looking forward to the sleeves and front panels. That's a lot of moss stitch. It looks lovely though!!

A little behind...

I've finished two grey projects in the past few weeks. I'm a little behind the curve on this whole Project Spectrum thing, but hey, at least I'm finishing things.

After making my roll call list, I couldn't keep going on new things without finishing something. I pulled the Grey 11:11 (eleven stitches on size 11 needles; also the time I was born) Scarf out. I started it in February for Project Spectrum.

Infomatics:

Started: February 23, 2007 (A big YAY for blogging, I would never know that normally!)
Finished: May 8, 2007
Needles: Clover Bamboo US 11
Yarn: Bernat Galaxy in Mercury & Star
Size: 68" x 4"
It's done in seed stitch. (I know, I'm insane... but I love the way it looks.)

A note on the yarn: I love it! It's been one of my faves for ages. I find it very interesting looking and it feels lovely too. I always buy some when it goes on sale. I have several balls of it hidden away in my stash.

Hat tricks.

I have some photos of the finished and blocked IHS. It looks lovely, I'm just too tired to edit/upload photos. I wore the scarf out on Saturday morning to go bridesmaid dress shopping. By the afternoon, it was too hot to wear and it was happily living in my J.Crew bag.

I finished the grey hat for Nick on Thursday evening... And it was too large... It got frogged Friday. I'm going to re-knit it soon.

I finished the purple and pink Silk Garden hat, but I'm afraid it might be a little too small. I'm going to pull out the CO end and add some more length. I love the way the colorway knit up though.

I also started a very cute 4x2 pink and green striped hat. It's just some generic yarn that was in the stash, but the colors looked great together and I wanted to knit something especially for Project Spectrum. (I've been falling behind... I still haven't finished my grey scarf that I cast on at the beginning of this round.)

I have another hat in the works for as soon as Vince decides what kind of pattern he wants. He played in yarn for quite a while on Sunday night trying to pick out what he wanted.

I think that's all the knitting news... I honestly can't remember. I need some sleep.

Yessssssssssssss!

I finished something! About frakkin' time.

My poor, long neglected grey Irish Hiking scarf. Seriously, when did I start this thing?? JULY of last year? What. The. Hell.

Anyway... it's done. It looks nice and is blocking away in front of my door.

Think pink!

The leg warmers are done and adorable. I ended up running out of yarn around 13" into the second one... so that meant ripping back the cast off edge of the first and just knitting until they were even. They are about 18 1/2" long. That's quite a difference from the 26" noted in the book. Not sure what happened there, but it worked out and I like them a lot. Of course, now that I've completed them, it's 70 degrees outside... although during March in Ohio anything is possible, so it might be -14 tomorrow.

I also got the yarn from Knit Picks today for my Hourglass sweater. It got here so quickly!!! I'm really pleased. The color is gorgeous!

It's Wool of the Andes in blueberry. The price can't be beat and it's very nice. I also got a ball each of forest heather and lake ice heather. I'm going to make a Hogwarts Slytherin scarf from them.

Greys

Knitting something grey while watching Grey's Anatomy is great fun. Not that I got much knitting done tonight during it. I cried more than I thought possible. Whew. What a great show.

Mmm... pink...

Grey Days

How many times can I knit this yarn into various scarves before I like it?

Well, twice so far. I was trying to knit it into seed stitch and managed to knit 1x1 ribbing instead. I do this a lot. D'oh.

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair.

I found a bag of bits and tiny balls of yarn in my closet this afternoon. It's been gathering for several years now. I toss in leftovers from projects as often as I can. So I dug in and started finger crocheting it together. (I'm not really sure if that's the right term, but my Grandma taught me how to do it when I was a kid. It was a whole lot easier than trying to braid 278 different pieces of yarn.)

Blue, White and Grey

It's February. The official beginning of Project Spectrum 2.

PSPharmRip

I've already finished one project and I'm trying to figure what on my queue will fit into the theme for February and March. I seem to have a lot of browns and beiges waiting and a few red things, but I can't think of anything in blue, white or grey. I guess that means I have to dig into the stash and knock a few things out. Oh darn!
