IHS

My first day's progress on the Irish Hiking scarf. I'm loving it! I'm using some of the Oma* stash, i.e. giant skeins of random yarn she collects all year and then ships to me in huge boxes. It's Caron in Juniper. I really like the color. I wasn't crazy about it on the skein, but it's knitting up really well.

The color looks a lot more rich in real life. I was trying to get a quick photo last night just to show it off.

I'm using a different kind of cable needle this time too. I've always used the wonky "U" shaped needle. But I picked up a set of the Texas Longhorn Cattle** ones a little while ago. I'm liking the longhorns a lot. Much easier to control and not nearly as slippery.

I'm surprised at how fast it's moving along. I'm using US11s. I can't take anything else on US8s right now (see Clapotis.) . I think I'll be avoiding those needles for a long time. Speaking of the Clap, it's almost gone done. I will finish it soon. I will finish it soon. I will finish it soon. I will finish it soon. I will finish it soon. I will finish it soon.

*Oma = Grandmother in German
** Texas Longhorn Cattle is not the official term. I just think they look like the horns on the front of cars on random shows about oil and ranching.
