Truckin'

We sold my beloved Focus about 2 weeks ago. I had had her for a long time, but since I don't drive much (less than 2 miles a week), and she wasn't really quite up to Truckee winters, we decided to sell it. We got a great price for it since I had taken pretty good care of her.

Yesterday, we bought a pretty great 1971 Dodge Power Wagon truck.

Our new truck!

1971 Dodge Power Wagon

It was owned by a police officer in Reno and then went to his daughter. He took great care of it and took copious notes for each upgrade and repair he did. We got a big binder full of scratched notes, warranties, and manuals. It had a cab over camper at one point, which we'd really like to do again, so we're happy that it has a few things done already that we won't have to worry about.

 Took some photos today.

Some of new stuff, some of posted stuff that just needed some better photos.

But there are lot of photos to sort through over the next few days!

To do

I have quite a to do list to get through in the next few days. I did get a great batch of photos (finally!) this afternoon.

superpink

When I was going through my stash the other day,* I was able to empty out one of the smaller storage bins. I have a matching set of three and  two of them are full of FOs for the store, now all three can be used for FOs. I have crazy, elaborate plans for the stash. A slow, but hopefully more productive way of inventorying it on Ravelry. But that is not on the list until March!

Part of the list for this month is updating photos and getting FOs listed. As I was organizing the dishcloths today for photos, I realized there were at least half a dozen colors that I have NEVER listed. Oop. Who knows when I knit all of these things, dishcloths are quickie projects and I tend to make a ton all at once. I can also knit them without looking most of the time, so they were popular study-knit projects.

*I finally found my tripod! I've been looking for it for weeks!

NYE

I'm in Wilmington right now. I spent the first half of my break in Indiana with Ryan, Lauren, Greg, and family. It was lovely and Lauren threw me a great 30th birthday shindig. It was small and full of games, the most delicious cake ever, good drinks, and people I like a lot! Nothing could be better!

Decmber 26 - 30th Birthday! (7)

I did Christmas stuff with my family once I got here and that was fun too.

December 30 - Family

I sort of hate New Year's Eve with a passion. It's always a big let down, so now I don't even bother to make extensive plans or worry about where I'll be at midnight. I have no idea what I'm going to do tonight and don't really care. We'll see what happens.

I didn't get much done for "Christmas knitting." I sort of just gave up early and made sure I didn't need to kill myself to get it done. I'm going to make the Skull Illusion Scarf for my aunt as her gift. I knew I wouldn't get it done in time, so I printed a photo of it and told her to pick the colors she wanted. I was also going to dig into the Red Heart stash to make it, but honestly, I started it with some and it was such a miserable feeling yarn, I stopped. I'm going to find some cheap superwash wool while I'm here to get it taken care of.

I've had some really gorgeous yarn lurking about in my stash for a while now and I really need to use them up. I did a pretty good job of not doing too much stash enhancing this year, but since I'm planning to make a move back to the midwest around this time next year, I really need to get it knocked out. I have 4 storage bins full and that needs to be cut down greatly! My Ravelry queue is also huge, so I think I can knit some goodies and get the stash taken care of.

Wings scarf (2)

This is some Noro Cashmere Island that I got cheap on WEBS last year. It's lovely, but I never really knew what to make with it. I have enough normal and stripy scarves, so I wanted something else. I've made a DK weight lace scarf before and considering that my queue has quite a bit of lace patterns, so I figured I should try it again and get used to crazy yarn overs and the like. I like the pattern, but I still have no idea if I'm doing p2tog tbl correctly. I made something up since I was in the airport/on the plane.

Odd

For some reason, all of my photos on Flickr aren't showing up in Ravelry. I have no idea why... But I really don't want to re-add all of them. If I click on the photo viewer and then on the link for the photo, I can see it on the Flickr page. It's weird and annoying.

Finishing Up

Oops. I meant to post yesterday and got distracted by editing photos and playing on Ravelry. Who can blame me?

So photos! I haven't posted photos of F.O.s in a long time so I'm just going to make a little gathering.

1. 1978, a leftovers hat I finished ages ago but never got any good photos of it.
2. Aimee's Red Menace scarf. Was origianlly a stash busting blanket from DECADES ago.
3. Gryffindor book scarf for Julie.
4. Grey Cashmere hat for Etsy shop.
5. Green & White striped basic dishcloth for Vince's dad. Finished Monday. (I gave him a red & green on for Christmas but didn't take a photo.)
6. Oceanside Scarf for Vince's Mom. Actually has 2 more colors at the end but I can't find the photos I took of it...
7. Open Cabled Hat for Julie. Great hat. I loved it. I'll post more about it later. I made a set of matching mittens but the photos are on Vince's camera. I should get those off there...
8. Christmas Ballband. Another for Vince's Dad.
9. Purple & White Ballband. Finished on Monday. Just because. I'll probably sent it to my mom for her birthday.
10. Limeade Ballband. For Mom.

(If you click on the photos, most have more than one photo with them. I'm not writing out details because, frankly, it's all in Ravelry... and I hate typing out details. I only have details now because Ravelry makes it so frakkin' easy!)

I really like this project: A Tree Undone. It would be something Boulder-ites would enjoy. I found it via this article about Subversive Knitting.

I have photos that need to be edited for size and some progress on the Hourglass to show off... but I'm a lazy blogger right now! Soon!! I swear.
