 Took some photos today.

Some of new stuff, some of posted stuff that just needed some better photos.

But there are lot of photos to sort through over the next few days!

Behind

I've been pretty useless this week. I've had a migraine almost all week. It's been sort of on and off, so that's sort of a relief, but also a bummer... Each time I think it might be gone, that stabby, sharp pain ripples under my scalp again or my eyes burn. I'm going to spend most of tomorrow on the phone trying to get the ball rolling on getting disability. I need medical care and a chiropractor.

I've been working on a lot of slippers as gifts. They're all at a stopping point right now. I really need to just start on another little piece and get through them.

I'm also working on a few different hats: some actually on the needles, some just scribbles in my notebook, or ideas I'm working on inside my head. I am hoping that a Netflix marathon of something good and a few good snowy days will get my list down to a manageable size.

I've taken some time this week to update my Kindle. I needed some new books. I also added some children's book to my Kindle Fire. I don't use the Fire for reading much since the backlight hurts my eyes, but the colors are so nice on it!!

Added some children's books to my Kindle Fire today.  #books

And to finish off, here's Mister Shinobi chomping some lunch.

Lunch time!

Cough

I've been rather sick for the last week, so I've had a lot of time to sit around my apartment thinking about what I want to knit this year. I say thinking about it, because I didn't get a ton of knitting done the first few days... I was just too out of it to think about anything. I worked a few rows of my second Citron a few times, but with such long rows and such tiny yarn, I got worn out fast.

(This photo is a bit old, but it pretty much looks the same)

I knit some dishcloths, because that's what I do, but nothing too exciting there. Just trying to build up some stock for etsy and use up these massive cones of cotton I have. I guess I did change it up by crocheting one. I'm still not a great crocheter, so little things like this help out a lot.

I also started playing with my little looms again. Basically my hands were really sore after knitting for a while, so I thought I might try that thing out again. I want to make a long loop scarf with some crocheted flowers along the join. At this rate though, I'm not going to finish it until 2034. It's really slow going. I need to find one of the kiddie ones with the crank. That would be nice.

I've been working on a hat too for my 11 Hats in 2011, but I'll post that info once I've had a chance to get a photo. It's too dark to attempt one right now. I'll take it outside tomorrow.

I've been making my cards for the 12 projects thing I mentioned last time, but I've gone over 12 (of course). I'm going to stop myself where I am now and just try to focus on the cards I have made. I want to match up the patterns and yarn and make knit kits out of them, so I don't have to dig through several storage areas to find a ball of yarn. I've been debating pulling my stash out of the storage room downstairs for a few days now and it might just be time to go ahead and do it. But not until next weekend! I have too much work to do for school right now and shouldn't be lugging heavy things around with this cold still lingering.

Making a list

I was in a rather boring meeting last week and took the time to make a list of Christmas gifts to be made/bought. I'm trying to use up as much stash as possible and save a bit of money where I can.

Today I signed up for a study abroad trip to IRELAND! Wooooo! It's 10 days in Dublin with tours, museum visits and such. It counts as credit for class too. Could there be any better reason to go? I was wanting to go to Europe next summer anyway and this is the perfect chance. My dad currently lives in Bahrain, teaching at a fancy school and wanted to get together to travel a bit. Now we can meet up before or after my class and go a few more places. I'd really like to go to Wales, Scotland and England.

Anyway, back to the list -- it's pretty long, but nothing too huge. The biggest thing is Grandpa's blanket. I have been a bad knit blogger and completely forgot to take pictures of the gorgeous squares Lauren and Cynthia sent to me.

They are so nice to me!!

The rest of the list is pretty manageable. Lots and lots of hats and dishcloths. I was smart and knit a lot of dishcloths in September to get a jump start. I have 12 done and hope to get at least another 20 done. They go pretty fast and are a good quickie knit.

I printed off some patterns today to get some stuff started and I'm going to get to work on them! I knit a hat on Saturday. It was a quick knit - an earflap hat knit on big needles with chunky yarn from a sweater I recycled. I just sort of freestyled it and knit. It came out a bit large so I felted it a bit and it looks great. I think I'm going to make a flower out of some felt and sew it on.

I need to take a whole big batch of photos sometime this week. I have some finished squares and a few other things in progress that need a photoshoot.

Late nights.

I just noticed that it's 3 am. Oops. I should stop playing with yarn and the internet and go to bed.

Quickie update:

2 ballbands done!
2 diagonal stripe dishcloths done!
2 scarves done!

Woot!

I just cast on for a hat and will probably get started on the matching mittens tomorrow. I have a few other hats I want to knit but those can wait until after Christmas (they're being mailed places) and I want to make a few more dishcloths. And that log cabin... I almost forgot. It's growing. I need to spend some quality time with it tomorrow. I'm sure I'll need a break from insane cabled hat knitting.

It's the final countdown!!

Two scarves down. One ballband down. One halfway done. Log Cabin almost done.

Now I just need to knit some hats and a few more ballbands. Not too shabby. I'm going to be up weird hours this week because Vince has a million papers to write and I'm trying to offer moral support by staying awake with him. Which might actually be distracting him more... Anyway, I'm going to go knit a few rows on a ballband.

Here.

I'm finally in Boulder. It was a very hectic few weeks... I've gotten NO knitting done and it's making me insane.

On my trip out, I stopped in Indiana to stay with Oma & Opa.* She had a large bag of yarn waiting for me. :) She always has a mini-stash waiting for me.

I feel like I should mention how awesome a knitter and crocheter Oma is. She knits faster than anyone I've seen in my life. She knits hats for charity. Since she's started she has knit over 2,500 of them!!! It's crazy. She knits them all flat, sews them up and puts pompoms on them too!!!

Okay, back to work. I'm trying to look for a job, unload my car, unpack, and get my life into some sort of order! Wish me luck.

Oh, and I swear that my Hourglass will be done soon. I only have a few rows to knit and then the finishing to do. I promise I'm not just knitting that because I don't have anything else to knit right now. ;)
